Safe Recovery is a practice that offers a safe, slow and simple alternative approach to traditional recovery programs from unhealthy repetitive, compulsive behaviors and patterns. Drawing on the foundation of Parts Works and utilizing the tools of coaching and EFT (also known as tapping) as a foundation to live a wholehearted life of awareness, embodiment and compassion.

Until you make the unconscious conscious,

it will direct your life and you will call it fate.

- Carl Jung

The practice of Safe Recovery was developed as an expansion of, and alternative to, traditional twelve step and recovery programs. It utilizes the modality of EFT (also known as tapping) as well as the latest education, research and resources to ensure that feeling safe is the primary focus of recovery from repetitive, compulsive, behaviors. By offering a safe container that is accessible to all, Safe Recovery offers a practice for individuals to slowly and safely come to awareness of unconscious triggers and unhealthy patterns through embodiment and curious compassion.

The Safe Recovery Practice stands on the pillars of:

The pillars of Safe recovery are awareness, embodiment, curiosity and compassion

How does Safe Recovery work?

Utilizing the pillars of Awareness, EmBodiment, Curiosity and Compassion -
The practice of Safe Recovery offers a safe container to explore and transform those areas in our lives that continue
to unconsciously direct our behaviors and beliefs. Through The Safe Recovery Practice, we deepen the relationship with ourselves and nurture a sustainable lifestyle of recovery.

We safely explore through The Model of the ABC’s:
A - Awareness: how does this concept affect me?
B - EmBodiment: how and where does the feeling show up in or around my body?
C - Curiosity: how can I be curious about this concept?
C - Compassion: how can I hold it with compassion for myself and others?

How can it help you to transform and live a wholehearted life?

Safe Recovery is a guided peer to peer practice that is held in community. We practice non-judgement, safe communication, and are open to the awareness and possibility that connection with others is essential for transformation and living a wholehearted life. Our coaches guides you through the conscious and unconscious aspects of life that may be at the root of unhealthy behavior.

Through the process of bringing these unconscious behaviors to awareness, we can apply The Five S Pathway:

  1. Slow

  2. Simple

  3. Small Steps

  4. Space

  5. Safety

EFT (TAPPING)

EFT stands for the Emotional Freedom Technique. It has also come to be commonly referred to as “tapping” as the techniques involve a gentle tapping or percussion of the fingertips on the skin. EFT is a form of psychological acupressure, based on the same energy meridians used in traditional acupuncture. EFT is often used to change negative feelings, reduce distressing and/or self-limiting thoughts, to alter repetitive unwanted behaviors and is even effective for working with and resolving traumatic memories. It is also commonly used to create positive emotional states, achieve desired goals and attain higher states of health, well-being and resilience.

HOLISTIC COACHING

Coaching emerged as a way to provide support for individuals moving through a change process toward greater effectiveness and fulfillment. The holistic coaching practice incorporates the whole person and assists to break through limiting beliefs, become aware of their inner wisdom, identify their emotions and understand their needs. From that grounded, centered place of deep awareness people can develop strategies that honor their values. By prioritizing depth of awareness before moving into action we bring our inner and outer worlds into alignment. When we navigate from this centered place life ignites as living material to interact and work with.

PARTS WORK

A psycho-spiritual method of working respectfully in the inner realm. An adaptation of the Internal Family Systems model for coaches, this model acknowledges that we are all composed of many parts, each created out of necessity and each with noble intent. Our Self is our true nature and is awake, wise and loving. By learning to recognize our parts, we develop an embodied sense of Self that can compassionately hold our emotions and our younger vulnerabilities. As we facilitate a relationship between our Self and our parts, our system harmonizes and we are able to step into living a compassionate life of Self leadership.
